QuickBooks Basics & Not-For-Profit Accounting
Fee: $450
The QuickBooks Basics course teaches students to adapt and use this popular software product in the not-for-profit environment. Students will be introduced to the basics of not-for-profit bookkeeping and the basic features of the QuickBooks system. The class addresses the types of information organizations need to track and participants will learn how to enter that information with the opportunity for plenty of hands-on practice.
This course covers the report writing features of QuickBooks financial statements, other summary reports, and the detail transactions reports. Students learn how to filter for and display information, learn how to use the budget feature and discuss budget strategies. They will also learn how to handle the non-routine areas of not-for-profit accounting using general journals.
At the end of the course, participants will have a good idea of what QuickBooks offers, and understand how data is organized within QuickBooks. Students will also be familiar with common tasks, and know where to find information about advanced features.
NOTE: Payroll is not covered in this class.
